Social Media Manager
Who are you?
Competitive, driven, creative, fun, inquisitive, humble, personable. Likes books. Broad interests. Can name a great artist, novelist, musician, athlete and explorer. Likes to cook. Shows initiative. Has done something stupid and survived. How are all these related to social media? They all connect back to a hunger in life to learn and a desire to tell stories. And the biggest thing we’re looking for is someone who likes to tell stories. In words. In pictures. In moving imagery.
What kind of skills do we need?
Writer with a conversational tone who can tell stories in a few words. Photographer with enough skills to “speak visual” for social media – that’s still photos and video. Well-versed and fully capable of taking over for clients on various social media channels such as FB, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Instagram, Foursquare, Periscope, YouTube/Vimeo, Google+, etc. An idea generator who has shown an ability to be creative. Good with people and comfortable learning about new things. Graphic design skills a major plus. Ability to think strategically and execute tactically…and evaluate the results of all actions. How’s that for corporate speak (but it’s true…we need those things, too)?
What will you do?
—Lead strategic social media and marketing initiatives for a wide range of clients.
—Lead and manage multiple client social media accounts across many social platforms (i.e Facebook, Google+, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, Foursquare, etc.).
—Write, coordinate and manage social media content on behalf of clients.
—Maintain community engagement for multiple brands and companies.
—Forecast, measure, analyze performance and make recommendations for clients.
—Grow digital channels and make it a growth avenue for clients.
—Write and generate content, create cohesive strategy for all the digital marketing/media channels.
—Smart, strategic, fast learner, insightful, making sure communication is effective and efficient.
—Develop content to build engagement across multiple client platforms.
—Remains on the leading edge of social media trends, platforms and applications.
